There are some stunning beers that are brewed in Japan that have become extremely popular worldwide over the last few decades especially as the global supply chain improves. There are a number of Japanese lagers that are made from rice such as Asahi, Sapporo and Kirin which are the most well-known brands of Japanese beers.
We will look at the Japanese beer brands list and the brands that are most popular around the globe.
This 4.9% ABNV pale lager is light and grainy in taste and refreshing. A great Japanese lager that’s easy on the pallet with a crisp finish. This beer comes highly recommended and was the first Japanese beer that I even tasted and certainly one of my favorite, certainly a high recommendation!
This 5.0% ABV pale lager is extremely highly recommended and has a pleasant and sweet smell of light grain and malt and has a beautiful golden color with notes of European aroma hops and a silky, smooth taste with a balanced hop finish. Ichiban means “number one” a most apt name for this wonderful beer – not one to be missed.
A 5.5% ABV craft beer that tops the list for wonderful taste texture and aroma, a beer that is extremely refreshing and extremely Moorish.It is refreshing mildly hopped Belgian styled beer with a complex flavor of coriander, orange peel, nutmeg.
Sapporo Nama Beer Black label
This beer is the flagship of Sapporo Breweries, this is a great beer for any time of the year or week. Sapporo Nama Beer Black Label is from the northern island of Hokkaido, and certainly resonates well with people that have distinct taste and like a mature beer.
Hitachino – Japanese Classic Ale
The bigger brother to the white ale at 7% ABV this bottle-conditioned ale is matured in Japanese cedar casks which are commonly used in the brewing of traditional Japanese sake. Just like the white ale a must add to your tasting list.
Yoho Brewing Yona Yona Pale Ale
This 5.5% craft beer is one not to be missed, pale in color, citrus evoking aroma of cascade hops and a balance of sweetness and bitterness that satisfies the palate.
This 5.0% Japanese beer is fermented for an extended periods and is a dark beer with a pale head. This glossy black beer is called “Shikkoku” which follows the name of the elegant jet-black lacquer work in Japan.
Suntory The Premium Malts
Suntory’s The Premium Malt’s is known for its great quality, with a rich taste and pleasant aroma. The beer has won two gold medals for two consecutive years in European competitions, it is a pilsner-style beer is easy to drink and extremely popular in Japan.
Sapporo Yebisu Beer
Sapporo Yebisu Beer is a beer that is of the highest quality. Popular with most beer drinkers that visit or live in Japan, this beer is made following strict German rules, using quality ingredients also imported from Germany. This really gives the beer a good aroma, great flavor, deep and rich intensity, and a clean finish.
Kyoto White Yuzu Ale
This 5% white ale is brewed with spice and has a taste of fruitiness and slightly sweet. The ingredients for this white beer include: water, barley malt, unmalted wheat, yuzu, coriander, hops, yeast.
